Why do you charge a fee and what is my money used for?
The Geekie Awards is an indie-created show, just like your work. We are not part of or backed by a TV network or major studio. We raise funds ourselves, through various means, to be able to produce a show that brings enough media attention to make it worthwhile for creators and everyone associated with the event to enter, attend and watch. Fees help cover various admin costs related to both submissions and the event, such as publicity and promotions, managing your submission through judging, nominations and the show itself.
ELIGIBILITY
Work must be entered through our submission site during the eligibility period of April 6, 2015 through May 31, 2015. All entry fees must be received by 11:59pm EST on May 31, 2015.
Links to media must be live and available during the submission, judging and live event period of April 6, 2015 to August 31, 2014.
We reserve the right to disqualify entrants and nominees who violate trademarks, infringe copyrights, solicit judges or the company; or entries that contain “hate” messages, pornographic material or statements that are offensive.
Ineligible entries may be disqualified at any time without notification.
SUBMISSIONS
Each entrant is responsible for ensuring their entry contains correct information and that URLs to media and websites work properly. Broken links and media that do not play may result in the entry being disqualified.
The “Title of Work” or artist name entered under each entry will be published if that entry becomes a nominee and/or winner. The title will be printed on the trophy if that entry becomes a winner; for Art/Craft and Fashion, we will use the name or shop name provided. Please ensure these details are correct at the time of entry.
We reserve the right to move any entry to another category if we feel another category is more appropriately suited for the entry.
Entrant assumes all shipping costs for physical entries and bears sole responsibility for distribution of products to judges. Any physical products submitted as part of your entry will not be returned.
You may withdraw your entry at any time by emailing submissions@thegeekieawards.com. However, you will not receive a refund as entries are reviewed at any point following submission.

JUDGING & NOMINEE SELECTION

Decisions regarding the The Geekie Awards nominees and winners are final.
AWARDS & TROPHIES
An awards ceremony will be held in Los Angeles, California to honor The Geekie Awards winners. To learn more about the ceremony, visit the Award Ceremony section of this site.
In any instance where there are insufficient entries in a category, the entries will not proceed and no award shall be made at the discretion of The Geekie Awards, LLC. If no award shall be made because of insufficient entries, all entry fees in that category will be refunded. All refunds will be issued by 11:59pm PST on July 31, 2015.
One trophy will be provided in every category that has a winner. Additional trophies may be available for purchase at a later date, at the discretion of the award sponsor companies.
