Jorge Suarez was only eight years old when Tim Burton’s BATMAN captivated his imagination. It was this iconic comic book adventurer who would drive Jorge to create short movies in the streets of suburban Seattle with his neighborhood friends using his father’s Hi8 video camera.
Jorge eventually pursued a film degree from Bellevue College and quickly began working within the independent film scene of Seattle. Starting from the bottom as a PA, he jumped from project to project gaining experience in every position from sound department to art department; dolly operating to camera operating; lighting to producing but Jorge found his true passion in directing.
Having grown up in a working class family, Jorge knew that he had to create opportunities rather than wait for them. He rallied his friends, family, and any other industry contact disposable to him to shoot his debut film; THE SCRATCH, an action crime-caper co-penned by Joseph D. Olson. Shot on Super 16mm film with a budget of only $7,000, THE SCRATCH picked up domestic DVD distribution through Maverick Entertainment and garnered attention from top industry professionals.
In order to continue climbing the filmmaking ladder, Jorge moved to Los Angeles where he has worked as an editor, cinematographer, writer, producer, and director on various film and television projects. Jorge’s representation through APA and Prolific Management oversaw the sale of his action script, RED SQUAD, due for release in 2013. He also joined forces with three ambitious filmmakers, Wilton Cruz, Eric Toms, and Russell Yost, to create Electric Milk Creative, Inc.
As a team, EMC has produced television shows, commercials, and films for such companies as 7Eleven, Cholula Hot Sauce, Paramount Pictures, and Playboy TV. Currently, Jorge is developing feature film projects as a writer/producer/director with the Electric Milk Creative team as well as various other Hollywood producers.
