Eríu the Flibble is an original plush design, handmade in a combination of faux fur, velour, and spandex; details include rhinestones, sequins, and handpainted eyes. Flibbles stand 9.5″ tall with an impressive 17″ wingspan and feature poseable wings and tails. Eríu was designed and made for Plush Week 3 at iam8bit Gallery, but is also first in an ongoing series of one-off individual Flibbles. Each have a unique combination of fabrics and details. At a crossroads between the whimsy of a child’s toy and the complexity of soft sculpture, House of Darkly’s plush are designed to invite interaction with their owners. The label includes a large imaginary menagerie of creatures, all of which are designed, patterned, and handmade by the artist in very limited runs. You may have seen them at any one of a number of pop culture conventions from coast to coast where House of Darkly exhibits.
